World Congress on Nursing and Healthcare

I was born in Lisbon in 1986, but I lived almost of my childhood in Pico Island in Azores. Both of my parents are doctors, so the health environments were very familiar to me. However as I was growing up, I realize that medicine was not my path, I wanted to be with the patients for the long time and not just for a few moment like a doctor. So in 2008 I become a graduated nurse. My undergraduate thesis was about the impact of nurse's heatlh education to parents, in theirs transition to parenthood, in a home visit setting. 

I worked for 11 years in a private hospital in Lisbon, in the Maternity. I did pregancy appointments, worked in delivery rooms, post partum care, and home visits to mothers and newborns. I also have some experience with eldery patients in 2 nursing homes, one in  Portugal and the other in Ireland. Since last October I started to work in occupational nursing and I doing my Post graduation in occupational nursing.
