Title: Emphasising the role of Transit Oriented Development on cities of Middle East
Callum Campbell is an Urban Planner and TOD specialist with AECOM Middle East. He studied Urban Planning & Design at the University of Manchester and the National University of Singapore and has experience in private practice as a Transport Planner, Airport Masterplanner, and Urban Planner & Designer across Europe, the Middle East, India, and Asia. His recent work has focused on the delivery of TOD in the Middle East, including regional/city strategies, conceptual master planning, guidelines, regulation, and development controls.
For this
conference, using delivered and live projects as examples, Callum will share
first-hand experiences of implementing TOD projects in the Middle East. His
talk will highlight key techniques for strategizing, implementing, and
regulating such initiatives and examine the successes and challenges incurred.
Critically, the talk will explore and share lessons learned in what is a rapidly
maturing TOD market, as countries and cities begin to prioritize TOD as an
enabler for increased liveability, sustainability, and global competitiveness.
